Kee Ann Road used to be very busy from 1930s until 1980s because the Central market is located here during this period.
After the market was shifted out in 1990s, Kee Ann Road is now becoming a tourist hub for visitors to stay for a night or two from outstation.
A few medium priced hotels are located on Kee Ann road like Prima Hotel. )
Other medium priced hotels nearby are Kingston Hotel, Tun Fatimah Riverside Hotel, Hotel 1825 and Hallmark Hotel Express ( former Regal Hotel in 1970s ).
Nearby, we have the international class hotel namely Dusit Princess ( formerly Ramada Hotel ).
Dusit Princess MelakaOn weekends, outstation tourist buses can be seen parked outside these hotels.
For food, there are a few kopitiams nearby at Jalan Bunga Raya and Jalan Bendahara like JJ Chicken Rice Balls cafe, Nyonya Secrets, popular Lorong Siham, Pork Rice, Bunga Raya Popiah and many more.
To visit the world renown Jonker Walk and historical sites, visitors can just walk over bridge over the Melaka River at Jalan Pasar.
Joggers can always jog along the pathway besides the Melaka River early in the morning and late evenings.
Do take our Melaka River Cruise at night to view the colourful river lights or walk down the river romantically with your love ones.
Drove down to Malacca yesterday to meet up with Wai and Chon Bee. They were back from Australia to attend MHS and MGS Reunion gatherings.
Met up at 12, Kee Ann Road before heading for a simple lunch at Nyonya Secrets restaurant Jalan Bendahara.
After the nasi lemak, we had Melaka Cendol.
Nyonya Secrets is a casual cafe serving popular Peranakan pre-cooked cuisines like Nasi Lemak with chicken rendang, pai tee, cendol with gula Melaka etc.
The Nyonya dishes that are not cooked insitu like the Mimosa Peranakan restaurant at Kingston (formerly Mimosa) Hotel.
Pricewise for their offerrings are reasonable and not very spicy.
Visitors should come to Nyonya Secrets and check up the food.
We had to change the faulty hot water heater at the senior shower room today. It's heater cannot heat up the water for taking a shower.
We bought a new Joven instant shower with pump for better showering experience.
We took back Yoke Tong ( Jade House ) signage back to 12, Kee Ann road for safekeeping.
Yoke Tong means Jade Home and this signage was hung above the main door at 84, Lorong Bukit China in Malacca.
This house was bought by my maternal grandfather, Wong Yoke San, as his ancestral house.
In later years of 2000, it was sold by his siblings and the money received was divided to the siblings.
By doing so, the Wong clan lost their ancestral house in Malacca and their descendents cannot visit the house anymore. Pity.
We were informed that auntie Amy Wong Yuit Kwai, passed away at 1.30am on 30.6.2025 at Bigtree Nursing home in Malacca.
She was 91 years old.
She was our mum youngest sister.
Now all the Wong sisters ( Wong Yuit Sim, Wong Yuit Ngor and Wong Yuit Kwai) are finally reunited.
May she rest in peace.
Uncle William passed away in Malacca General Hospital on 6.6.2025.
Reunited finally in heaven.

**Kee Ann Road in Malacca: A Blend of Heritage and Modernity** ( Written by Deepseek )
Kee Ann Road, located in the heart of Malacca City, is a charming street that reflects the rich cultural tapestry of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Lined with a mix of traditional shophouses and modern establishments, the road offers a glimpse into Malacca’s vibrant past while catering to contemporary lifestyles.
These shophouses, some dating back to the early 20th century, now house a variety of businesses, including cafes, boutique hotels, and souvenir shops, blending history with modern commerce.
Food lovers will appreciate Kee Ann Road for its local eateries serving Nyonya cuisine, a delicious fusion of Chinese and Malay flavors.
Nearby attractions, such as Jonker Street and the Malacca River, are just a short walk away, making it a convenient spot for tourists exploring the city’s heritage.
Whether you're admiring the historical architecture, savoring Malaccan delicacies, or simply soaking in the laid-back atmosphere, Kee Ann Road offers a delightful experience that captures the essence of old-world Malacca.
